He perked up. Walk? He was going out? He practically jumped up and down with excitement as she attached a leash to him.
"You sure are excited today, Jeff...hoping to see your friend next door? Every time we see Lilly and her owner you get so excited..."
But Lilly had already gone inside, "I bet you're hungry, girl," Sandy said, grabbing a bag of human food for Lilly. "You don't have to worry about putting food on the table, or paying the bills...you get everything you need." It sounded nice, but every time she thought about just relaxing and doing nothing, her brain reminded her of more things she had to do.
Lilly didn't follow any of this, focusing the bowl being filled up with food, fulfilling that need being her only thought. Sandy put the bowl down and watched her human attack it.
Maybe she could give Lilly some more time after lunch...fetch in the yard, maybe.
