Now Marina and Thomas's parents would have seen the grim humour in the idea that the vial had contained 'mouthwash'
Over the next few hours that first night all four reacted to the
new instincts,knowledge and hunches they all experienced
after coming back to life.
Basically all four felt a phantom snout,wings on the back,a phantom tail and a annoying need to walk on all fours and stalk
something,
They were all old enough to realize that the feelings and sensations coursing through their nerves,veins ,skin and minds
matched up pretty well with what they knew mythical dragons
might experience.
So the notion that they were really dragons larking about in a
human shape was no great leap to reach.
However luckily the awakening asgardian firedrake instincts
needed to shapeshift back into their true dragon shape hadn't
yet formed,though
Thomas,who definitely wanted to go big winged,scaly and breath
fire
really tried that night.
As for Marina,who definitely had not liked cold blooded snakes
and reptiles before this
she spent the night locking herself in the houses washroom
sobbing.
Though the floor did not creak or otherwise hint at her true weight
when Marina stepped on the bathroom scale she saw with
horror that the scales dial readout was telling her that her
weight
was increasing steadily,from her original
130 pounds to something on the order of flashing
999.99's before the scale finally went dead on her.
Their parents however
spent the night burying the dead dog ,cat and chickens in a
dead hole in the earthen floor of the houses basement.
For Marina's fisher dad had figured out through various clues
that the animals had still been alive after the clouds of poisonous fumes had cleared out of the kitchen.
Basically the poisonous fumes that had killed the animals
had come from the breath of the changed family of
four themselves.
So the parents were whispering between the two of them
whilst Marina's pale faced mother held the lantern aloft whilst her husband buried the evidence
whether it was safe for the four of them to go near other humans
and animals.
The two giggled nervously as they realized that being
dragons might mean all four would need to hide
in a cave,like dragons are supposed to do.
