Jen decides that she’ll feel better if she slips more into her toddler role. If she gets in touch with her childish, toddler side, things won’t feel as demeaning. She needs to start acting like one, all the time, not just on set.
The easiest thing Jen can do to act like a toddler is to use her diaper. Sure, she’s been using a diaper for a while, but all her diaper holds while she’s awake is pee. She can control her bowels, so she asks Gideon to take her to the bathroom for number two. Jen decides to stop asking Gideon to take her to the bathroom to poop and, on the rare occasion she can tell she needs to go, to pee.
While on set the day Jen comes up with this plan, she feels the urge to poop. While cameras are rolling, she squats and pushes, grunting loudly. It’s more difficult than she thought to poop when she knows people are watching. Her face turns red from effort. After a few more moments of grunting, she empties her bowels into her diaper. For good measure, she lets her bladder loose as well. She straightens. Her thoroughly soiled diaper sags under her. She beams at her costars.
“I poopoo!” she says cheerfully when there’s a break in conversation. The director instructs cameras to stop filming so that she can get changed. Gideon takes her over to a changing table.
“What was that about?” he hisses at her as he removes her diaper.
“I toddler, I act like one,” Jen says firmly. Gideon sighs.
“Does this mean you won’t be asking to use the potty for number two now?” he asks. Jen nods. “…Great.” Gideon changes her diaper and brings her back on stage. “Sorry about that.”
“No problem,” the director says. “Her comedic timing was actually perfect. I think we’ll keep that.”
“Really?” Gideon asks. The director nods. Jen’s heart sinks. They’re actually going to air the footage of her messing her diaper. She swallows. It’s not something a regular toddler would care about, so she shouldn’t care, either. Gideon sets Jen down and they resume filming.
After filming is done for the day, Gideon checks her diaper, notices that it's wet, changes her, and then dresses her in overalls and a T-shirt. He turns away to talk to the director. Jen decides that now is the perfect time to do another toddler behavior. But what?
