Kenneth shook his head as if waking up from a daze. "Sorry, I swear that I was listening; I was just distracted." He admitted as he slide the phone across the desk. "Take a look. I don't think you're getting a new phone like you hoped. There is a lot of extra stuff on my phone that wasn't there before..."
Max peered at the device and groaned. "What the hell!" he complained. All of his contacts were now on his brother's phone, along with the pictures he saved. Though, none of the apps he downloaded were there. Max left the phone on the desk and leaned back in frustration, dragging his brother with him.
"Realistically, we only need one phone." his brother spoke as if walking on egg shells.
"Yeah but..." Max sighed. "...it would have been nice to have our own, and not have to share." Since his parents had already downloaded what was saved onto his phone into Kenneth's, there would be no changing their minds. "Whatever... I should still let them know that I'm... we're alright."
"Do we have to though..." Kenneth spoke.
"I don't want them thinking I'm dead." Max replied.
"No, that's fine. I meant... do we have to tell them we're... you know... sharing a body." Kenneth seemed to have a pained expression and Max was unsure why.
"Its not like we can hide the fact that we're stuck together, especially when we go back to school." Max paused for a moment and the smirked. "Are you embarrassed to be seen with me?"
"No, that's not it either." Kenneth threw his hand in the air, frustrated. "I know we'll have to reveal it to everyone, and with the way Mom and Dad are, they'll probably want us to start back at school sooner rather than later." He hesitated before continuing. "Can we just not tell our friends until we have to. It would be our secret until we go back to school."
"I mean, I guess... sure." Max reluctantly agreed. He was not sure of the benefit to not saying anything. "But why?" Kenneth became quite again. The question seemed to make butterflies take flight in their stomach. Max felt his brother's embarrassment affecting him. "Okay, spill it Ken. What aren't you saying?"
