A week after the disastrous prank, Jess sits in a stroller, being pushed into a classroom by her full-time caretaker, Anna. Anna brings the stroller to the front of the class and sits down next to it, ready to give Jess whatever she needs.
When she discovered the mistake, Jess had contacted the store immediately. Apparently, two suits can’t be put on at once, so Jess wearing a permanent one meant she couldn’t put on another to reverse the effects. The store explained that Jess wouldn’t be stuck as a toddler forever; she’d grow up again. To make up for the mistake, the store arranged for Jess to have a full-time live-in caretaker. As Jess’s caretaker, Anna acts like a nanny, babysitter, parent, and general servant. She lives with Jess, taking care of her and the apartment.
The store had even provided a suit for Anna to wear that made her look like Jess, allowing her to take Jess’s place at college. During class, Anna went by Jess, and Jess went by Anna, a toddler “Jess” had adopted. It took a bit of convincing for professors to allow toddler Jess in the classroom, but she stayed on her best behavior during lectures.
Lecture ends. Anna gets up and pushes the stroller out of the classroom. A few of Jess’s classmates coo at her, unaware of who she really is. The store offered to arrange for Jess to attend class normally, but as a toddler. Jess refused. She didn’t want to be humiliated by her classmates watching her use her diaper and knowing who she is. Even her family doesn’t know what happened to her, or that “Jess” adopted a toddler.
Jess chews on her big toe idly as she’s pushed outside and to the car. Anna removes her from the stroller and buckles her into her car seat. It’s only a matter of time before her family stops by unannounced. Hopefully, it won’t be for a while. Jess feels pressure in her bowels. Now used to using her diaper for everything, even when she has enough time to use the bathroom, Jess pushes. Anna sighs at the familiar sight of Jess messing her diaper.
There’s a flicker of something in Anna’s look. Something almost resembling resentment. Jess hopes that Anna isn’t already beginning to regret becoming her caretaker. The suit turned her two. She has sixteen more years before she doesn’t need a guardian.
They pull out of the parking lot and head back to the apartment. On the way, Jess finishes messing herself, and for good measure, wets herself as well.
“Need change,” Jess announces as Anna parks the car. Anna nods.
“I’ll do that once we get upstairs.” Anna turns off the car. She looks at Jess in the rearview mirror. “Oh, I forgot to tell you, but we’ll be having guests over today.” Jess swallows nervously.
“Who?” she asks.
