The car ride was one of suspense silence. Marina impatiently drummed the steering well with her fingers. She had no idea why she was changing like this... the worst part was that she was enjoying it too! She pulled up to the beach, and quickly got out of the car. She took out her beach bag, and hurried down to the sands. She beach was almost barren today, save for two teenage girls working on their tans about half a mile away.
She laid her beach towel down, and rummaged around in her bag to see if she had forgotten anything. Food... check (just a fruit for after her swim) and water. She took a swig out of her bottle and licked her lips afterwards. She'd made sure to dump the rest of the salt from the shaker into it. She put the items back, and stood up. Checking her waterproof watch, the time read 12.34. Perfect. She began to jog towards the water. She oddly seemed to be getting a really good grip in the sand. She looked down and saw that her webbed toes helped propel her forward, digging into the sand. Soon she'd reached the water, and as she hit the first wave coming up to her knees, a shiver went down her spine. Not a cold shiver, but a warm, pleasurable and almost arousing shiver. She giggled and waded deeper into the water, and started swimming out. As she swam, she felt the webbing in between her toes helping her, making her swim faster. As she got out to deeper waters, she dove in, going towards the bottom. As she swam deeper, her hands began to tingle. She looked on, as the webbing between her fingers grew past the first knuckle, and all the way up to her fingertips. Her shock soon turned into excitement, using her newly webbed hands to push herself through the water faster.
After a few moments, Marina surfaced again, a smile plastered on her face. She swam to the shore, and sat right by the waves. She checked her time. 13.56?! How in the world could time have flown that fast? She shook her watch. Had the water damaged it? There's no way... that means that she must've been under for about an hour. It felt like 2 minutes! How is it even possible..? Her record under water is 4 minutes..! She glanced at the watch, yet soon, something in her peripheral caught her attention. She first thought nothing of something moving under her chest, probably just her hair. Yet as she breathed, whatever it was kept moving in and out of view. Not only that, but there was a tingling sensation right below her chest, almost an itch.
