“Unfortunately, we don’t currently have any method of returning you to your proper age,” the employee says, seeming legitimately apologetic. Jess’s heart sinks. “But if you’d like, you could help us come up with one.”
“How?” Jess asks. Her curiosity getting the better of her, she stops trying to hold her bowels. She messes her diaper promptly, but doesn’t mind.
“We need test subjects for our products, and don’t have any your age. If you agree to let us run tests on you, you would be helping us to develop a way to resolve this faster.” Jess thinks for a moment. Her bladder lets loose as well. The sensation of a full diaper and the smell are both thoroughly unpleasant. She’ll do whatever it takes to get out of this situation. And if she’s hidden away in a lab somewhere, no one from her life will know she got herself stuck as a toddler. She nods. The employee beams.
After Jess signs a few forms, she is whisked away for a diaper change, then taken to Gen-Tech headquarters, where she has her own private room. The room looks more like a nursery than she’d like, but she admits that it’s better for her current needs. Everything is paid for by the company, to her relief. She doesn’t have to pay for anything.
As the youngest person in the building, the scientists who care for her fuss over her constantly. After spending her whole life being ignored in favor of Jack, she basks in the attention. Thankfully, the tests they run on her aren’t that painful. But despite having a cushy situation and people fawning, she looks forward to the day they cure her.
Unbeknownst to Jess, the scientists are running multiple tests on her, all of which will “fix” her current situation, but in a different way. None of the methods work, until a few months after Jess was turned into a toddler, when one suddenly does.
