Amy didn’t have a particularly nice life; her parents were poor; not just not well off, but living from week to week sort of poor, one misstep and you’re on the streets kind of poor. To make matters worse her farther was an abusive asshole who kept the family on the tightest leash he could manage, keeping them in terror for there lives.
The only bright spot in Amy’s life was her computer, her wonderful, state of the fucking art, computer. She’d built it herself, working her guts out to get the money for each and ever part, then hidden it away in her own private sanctuary, which was located in her buildings basement.
She’d found the room by accident, it had been part of the original building, but when they put in a new heating system they’d had to build a half wall to support some of the new pluming, and they’d but that half wall and new pluming right across that door. Now you couldn’t even SEE the door unless you squeezed past all the piping and got right up against the far wall; so the room beyond had become a sort of forgotten space, one Amy had claimed for herself; with a her computer in there, tapped illegally into the buildings phone lines, it was all the sanctuary a skinny sixteen year old girl needed.

After a long day at school Amy sneaked down to the basement and into her hideaway, quickly logging onto the internet she check her e-mail, only to find an anonymous e-mail with a huge attachment. Intrigued as to what it might be, Amy did everything she could think of to insure it was virus free, then opened it; only to have it automatically install a program onto her computer; it happened so fast she didn’t even have a chance to react, and all her many safe guards did was stop the program from automatically initializing. After catching her breath and checking that her precious hand made baby was all right, Amy began to cautiously examine her new program, becoming more and more amazed at what she found.
If this thing was for real she could remake her life; get rid of that asshole of a farther of hers, make her family rich, anything she wanted this ‘Maker’ could apparently provide, but before all that there was something she had to do, something she wanted, no needed to do, Amy had always been fascinated by…
