It was a good few hours later when Angus logged into the site. That wasn't his real name of course. Giving away those sort of details was a sure fire way to get sucked into a story. And, though he was sure this was all some kind of elaborate hoax, he didn't want to take any chances.
When he had arrived home from work his wife was nowhere to be seen, which was completely out of character without some kind of prior explanation. Stranger still, when he had called her phone it had turned out to be on the study room desk where she should have been home working that day. Her keys, wallet and work pass were all in the house too and a quick phone around her friends had turned up nothing.
Figuring there was not much he could do but wait for her to return, boredom eventually lead him to one of his regular online haunts. Reading through one of the stories posted online earlier that day he could hardly believe his eyes. Was there any way in the world that Melanie could have been sucked into a cyoc story where she was currently at the mercy of a sadistic dominatrix named Verra? And he was being offered the chance to join her?
Well, it fitted in with her dissapearance but really? He considered the situation for a moment. If Melanie was in trouble then in his position he could be her all poweful hero. He could bring about Verra's demise in any number of ways withim a few simple sentences.
But then, wouldn't that be a bit of a wasted opportunity? He had never dared confide in his unusual fetish with Melanie and she probably would have been repulsed by it if he had. But he had certainly fantasised about transforming her many times over the years. He had fantasised about shrinking her, turning her to stone or into the form of some lowly animal with her human mind unaltered. All completely against her will. Not to mention making her twenty five years old again, when she had been at her most alluring. He wasn't proud of it but it had all just been a harmless fantasy. Or could he do it to her for real now? And if so was he strong enough to resist?
Angus' fingers trembled over the keyboard with excitement and guilt. Just one or two quick transformations for Melanie, then he would reduce Verra to ash and bring his wife back. But then it hit him...
He had forgotten to wipe his internet history the previous eveninh. Mel had discovered his unusual online activiry and now she was pranking him. Maybe even testing him. To respond now would be playing right into her hands.
How could he have been so foolish? Of course his wife hadn't been sucked into cyoc. He would log off for now and wait for her to return. If, for some crazy reason, she was still AWOL beyond what he would consider a reasonable amount of time he could always come back. He was pretty sure that it was a fictional character, and not rhe woman he loved, who he was leaving at the mercy of Verra and the other cyoc authors in the meantime.
