Sherman Stiff pushed herself to the front of the line of people. She was a thin pencil of a woman with blond hair done up in a bun, a set of high heels and a black business suit and skirt that had remained free of wrinkles during the crash landing.
She stood behind the pilot waiting to be noticed, when that didn’t work she tapped him on the shoulder.
‘Excuse me sir what kind of scam do you think your trying to run here?’ She asked tapping her foot on the sandy beach.
The pilot looked at her confused “uhhh, scam?” He asked.
She let out a huff.
‘I have a VERY important meeting tomorrow at exactly 9. A. M Eastern time, and I don’t have time for this shurade!’
“Ma’am please calm down, we are doing a role call and supply check...”
‘Do NOT TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!’ She pointed a long bony finger at the pilot. ‘I’ve worked too long and hard to be stopped by a man like you telling ME of all people to calm down. Who do you think I am?’
“Ma’am please just corporate with us while we find a solution to get off this island.”
‘How long will that take?’ Sherman interrupted sounding entirely serious.
The pilot turned to the co pilot who just shrugged.
“Weeks? Months? We don’t know how long a rescue crew will take to find us...”
‘Unexepytable. ’ She interrupted again. ‘Who’s in charge?’ The pilot sighed and the co pilot took over answering.
“For now we are.” The co pilot responded.
‘Well I feel you lack in leadership skills, I believe I should take command.’
“Ma’am, we have training for these situations.”
‘Well how will we know you can do your job properly? I mean you’ve already messed up flying a plane. So why are YOU in charge and not someone more capable like ME. I have over 25 years of CEO experience if that doesn’t qualify me I don’t know what will.
“Ma’am, we just crashed on a deserted island with no way of leaving. Your clearly hysterical. If we can all just take a deep breath...”
‘I demand to speak to your manager!’ She spat. The pilot just shrugged.
“If you reach him please let me know.”
Sherman Stiff let out an exasperated shreak and went off to the unexplored jungle.
“No, stop come back. We don’t know what’s in there yet.” The co pilot mumbled bairly audible only for the pilot to jab him in the ribs.
“Well are YOU going to go after her?”
The pilot could still see her inside. “Later, she’ll be fine for a few minutes on her own in their. Watch, by tonight she’s gonna be right back here.”
Meanwhile Sherman Stiff was struggling to wade through the vines and branches in her high heals. She pressed on only to find yet more even denser jungle. Yet still she pressed, reaching areas no human had ever explored in likely ever. She was just about to turn back when she found...
