Vera had a few mixed feelings about this meeting she had been invited to. Theresa and Jessie had given her the details of how their lunch date with Abraham and Elijah had went. While Elijah seemed pretty eager, Abraham looked like to be a harder nut to crack, until the rest of his siblings were set up that is. Vera wasn't particularly happy about having to compete with three more mares for the few remaining single stallions. But then there was a little drama bomb that was dropped that caught Vera by surprise.
Vera had known for a long while that she was bisexual, but she didn't treat it quite as seriously as other people. While she had plenty of fun with women, she ultimately wanted to settle down and have kids, something she didn't think could work in a lesbian relationship. That's what caused her past romances with other women to fall through. Admittedly, not all her female partners were wanting to commit fully and a relationship founded mainly on sex does not have much strength. Vera wished she had more luck with men than women, but she eventually hit an age where it was harder to get a man's serious attention. That was why she had decided to convert along with her friends. Sometimes, Vera wondered if she should have gone for the hermaphrodite option, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to have kids that way. The problem was that single stallions were more scarce than she imagined.
But then Vera had discovered something rather surprising. Not only were same-sex marriages perfectly legal in Animalia, but people were also more accepting of open marriages and swinging. Vera assumed it had something to do with the fact that many animals weren't strictly monogamous in nature. Not that every Animalian couple, married or not, wasn't fully committed to their relationship, but quite a few were open to more than one partner. This seems particularly common among bisexuals. Vera hadn't considered how this could apply to her until she found out that one of the Hanson mares may also be bi.
That led to Vera meeting with Blythe and Coye at the park. Vera had to admit the two sisters would be hard to tell apart except one was wearing pink, the other wearing blue, and they had side ponytails on opposite sides of their head. "Hi there," said Vera, walking up to them and addressing the blue-wearing one, "You must be Blythe."
"Actually, I'm Coye," said the blue-wearing mare, "I'm here as emotional support for my sister."
Vera turned to the pink-wearing mare and asked, "You feeling ok about this?"
"Well...it's kinda hard to admit I'm different from my siblings," said Blythe, "Especially from Coye."
"I think it's a good thing we aren't complete copies of each other," said Coye, "It gives you a chance to be unique."
"There's nothing bad about being bi," said Vera, "Some people are just born that way."
"Well, I'm honestly not sure if I was born bi," said Blythe, "Maybe I was actually gay before I got converted. I was just too young to even know I preferred girls over boys."
"And when did you first realize you swung both ways?" asked Vera.
Blythe shrugged and said, "A couple of weeks after, maybe? All I know was that when I was browsing the Animalian dating site, both options were appealing to me."
"Then she started getting into the naughty stuff," said Coye in a teasing tone. Blythe gave her identical sister an annoyed snort.
"Well, relatively speaking, I think you got off easy," said Vera, "I was in middle school when I noticed my aces are both high and low." The two sisters gave her a confused look. "Poker reference, I suppose you haven't learned to play. Anyways, it was pretty awkward for me and I had to bottle up my girl-loving side for years. At least you got to skip that and live in a community that won't shun you for it."
"Does it particularly matter?" asked Blythe, "I mean, there are some available stallions now, even if they have to deal with being bi too."
"And yet still not quite enough," said Coye, "Even if there are three for us, Faye will still be left out."
"Well, I've been thinking it over for a while," said Vera, "You girls heard of that cat and skunk pair? What are they called?"
"Ashley and Jennifer, sure," said Blythe.
"Not as many double-dosed former kids as you may think," said Coye, "It's easy to keep track of each other."
"Right, well, I hear they kinda have a swing relationship with that cat boyfriend," said Vera.
"They still do, but Jennifer now has a skunk boyfriend so they mix it up a bit," said Coye.
"Ok. Anyways, I was thinking perhaps me and Blythe here could possibly share one of the new stallions between us," said Vera.
"Oh, you mean how the anacondas have their three-way marriage?" asked Blythe.
"I think Iphis and Ianthe count as separate individuals," said Coye.
"I'm just glad we weren't born joined together," said Blythe.
"I can agree to that," said Coye, "Just sharing a bathroom can be annoying enough."
"So, can we agree about sharing a stud?" asked Vera.
"I'm not sure," said Blythe, "Is there any actual attraction between us?"
"Let's see," said Vera before stepping up to Blythe and planting a kiss on her lips. They both felt some warmth at that, a cozy, pleasurable warmth. Vera pulled back and said, "I think we may have something."
"Enough to give it a try," agreed Blythe.
"Hey, let me try," said Coye before she gave Vera a kiss, "Nah, it's not working for me."
"Speak for yourself," said Vera in a dreamy tone.
