Katie, Gloria, and all the dopplegangers now sat stone faced inside the Magic Shop as they watched the world news. Chaos would be the beat description of what they saw as images flashed across the screen.
"Breaking news at this hour as our cameras record what appears to be, a dragon! A large group of dragons based here in the Rocky Mountains. The president and his advisers have been taken to a secured location as military forces have been placed on high alert."
The group looked anxiously at one another as more images played, this time from the other timeline.
"U.N. forces in conjunction with British, French, and German forces have surrounded the forests of central Europe as where what appears to be werewolves reside. The President, Prime Minister, and Secretary General have convened an emergency meeting to discuss what actions need to be taken."
"This is bad huh," Gloria asked.
Katie could only nod as the group turned to the future Lynne, Morgan, and Anjelica. "Did this happen before?"
"No," Lynne said quietly. "In our time, Villar won, merged the timelines and erased most people from existence. The magical realms never existed on Earth, let alone both timelines."
"When you say erased what exavtly does that mean," Mary Elise asked.
"It means people crumbled to dust," Morgan stated. "Claudia, Gloria, Jackie those were but a few of the casualties when the timeline merged."
"Wait I'm dead," Jackie exclaimed. "Than how did I have a daughter?!"
"The effect was temporary," Anjelica said. "Lynne and Jack were able to separate the timelines. When that happened everyone that crumbled to dust came back to life."
"Still though some of you didn't survive," Lynne said sadly. "Mary Elise, Karen, the other Sebastian, they died in the war with Villar."
Mary Elise shuddered at the knowledge that her life would have ended if not for the actions taken today.
"Okay I have a question," Yuriko stated angrily as she pushed herself to the front. "In my time Merlin sent me back to help but your saying he was already dead. So who exactly was that?"
Lynne now raised her arm, pointing at an astonished Kellie Pendragon. "Me," she exclaimed in shock.
"When your father passed you came into possession of his staff," Morgan stated. "After the war was over you took over the Magic Shop as well as his duties. In trying to keep the war secret from the next generation of wizards you disguised yourself as Merlin."
"So if I was Merlin," Kellie said quietly. "Why would I send Yuriko back to stop Villar?"
"You weren't trying too," Morgan said calmly. "But, you knew Yuriko would play an instrumental part in the war. You needed to send her back before the timelines merged."
"Then why did you three come back," Sasha now asked.
"We couldnt let Lilith die," Anjelica said. "In our time she was instrumental in destroying Abolith. She was the only one that could kill her. If she died than we weren't sure if anyone could."
The group now paused as an image of the kitsune kingdom appeared on screen. Claudia gasped in horror as she saw soldiers slowly move into the town, Chisai and Kiko trying to talk with them as they held the Harris children in their arms.
"Aaron, Haley," Claudia whispered fearfully.
"Claud we need to get the kids," Mika said sternly. "We cant let anything happen. To our babies. They need to be with their sister."
"So what happens now," Felicia asked. "I mean if Villar is dead then things should be better right?"
"That's the problem," Merlin sighed. "We can not be entirely sure. The mortal world has not had any magical influence within it for millennia. For most magic is simply the stuff of legends. Now magic and in turn the beings of legend exist beside mortals. It is impossible to say how modern mortals will react to this."
"So no bueno," Sasha sighed.
"What about Villars followers," Samantha asked. "Do we still need to be worried about them?"
"Most likely," Lynne said. "Fukushu always carries a grudge. It's only a matter of time before he pops up again."
The group now went silent once more, mulling over what they were seeing. Their worlds had changed. Whether or not for the better tested squarely on their shoulders.
