A hundred thoughts whizzed through Lisa's mind. She could trap and turn Eric's mom, turn her into a rat too. But she wouldn't want that? Eric too? She could turn him or change him... but. She didn't want him. Not anymore. She just wanted Tomtom.
Not to have to explain her choice of turning into a rat, just enjoying living it.
That was it... she didn't want to live as a human. She wanted to be a rat. The best rat. The best, biggest, most pregnant rat ever. Unbeknownst to Lisa, her change to remove her uncertainty and fear of the unknown had affected her strongly just now. Without it, the though of leaving behind human live held no fear or regret for her.
She had to move fast. She began typing furiously.
"Immune nd immortal too... no disease... keep to 3 feet tall min. Dat'll keep off predatrz. Smart, smart wrat. No more memory of me from everyone, nd no rekognise my changez here."
With a final stab she hit the execute button with a clawed, knobbly finger. She felt a wash of tingling come over her and shivered with vitality.
The slam of the front door brought her back to concentration.
"Tomtom!" She hissed, "We gonna run babe!" She scrambled off the chair and onto the bed, then scrabbled onto Tomtom's back, fingers and toes curling to hold onto the massive beast.
"You gonna run now Tomtom". She croaked, pointing at the window overlooking the garage roof.
Lisa grabbed on tight as Tomtom lurched and bounded across the bed and pushed through the large window, dropping two feet into cooling tiles. With a patter of clicks and clacks they scampered across the roof to the side of the house, lept on some bins and from there to the concrete.
"Bushez!" Lisa croaked, pointing at the bank of bushes and trees at the back garden.
Tomtom took off. Bounding across the lawn, bursting into the trees and bounding off into the woods at the edge of town.
