Jen suddenly shrunk from a toddler to a newborn. To Amanda’s surprise, Heather became younger as well, most likely to fit her daughter’s new age. Heather glared at Amanda. Amanda shrunk back, wondering what the cause of her mood shift was.
“Amanda, you’re too little to be using a phone,” Heather scolded. She held out a hand. “Give it.”
“But-”
“Give. It,” Heather commanded. Just then, Jen began to wail. “Oh, no, poor baby girl,” Heather cooed, bouncing Jen. “Okay, okay, I’ll change you.” Heather looked at Amanda. “When I get back, you’re going to give me that phone, young lady.” Heather marched out of the kitchen.
Amanda quickly generated a new sentence on the phone.
“Amanda’s mother is changing her little sister’s diaper.” Amanda swallowed. Apparently, that change had altered things. Now, she wasn’t an adult who had caught some illness. She was just a toddler, with a baby sister and a mom who didn’t want her using a phone. Hurriedly, Amanda made a new sentence, hoping that it might be able to let her change things.
“Heather is coming back to check on Amanda’s diaper.”
