The five new merpeople followed Cura to start their half-hour swim to Binaia, the village that their friends were located at.
It took some time for people like Colton and Harmony to get used to their new bodies but eventually everyone got used to swimming with help from Cura.
Their tail colors attracted quite a lot of attention from the nearby fish. They were used to seeing merpeople but it's not everyday that a fish saw a red Aztec dragon or flame licks on a tail.
While he wasn't one to show too much emotion, Adrian found himself being rather fond of the underwater landscape. The colorful coral, rocks, and fish were a nice change of pace from the grey roads and dull blue pigeons that Adrian woke up to everyday for years as an Uber driver.
Lupe had a warm grin on her face throughout the whole trip. For years, she has dreams of being a mermaid underwater. It seemed like just a fantasy created by her mind but it wasn't anymore. This was real, the sea was her home now.
Harmony was quite receptive to the attention from the sea life. The fish didn't look at her like some bimbo made to warm a bed but a beautiful creature of the sea, a nurse of the waters to be respected and nurtured.
Colton was more interested in trying tricks with his new tail. With no worries of breaking any leg bones, Colton made his tail curl in ways a human can never replicate in a mermaid or merman costume. Colton swam in and out of various rocks in a speed that seemed to live up to the fiery imagery of his tail.
Unlike the others, Stacy was very quiet, thinking of the girlfriend that would forever sleep with the fishes due to an accident. It wasn't intentional but Stacy would blurt out a question.
"How could a baby turn people into mermaids?" She said.
Adrian joined in. "Yeah, all this time and I forgot this whole thing happened because of a baby. How does that even happen?"
Cura turned around and answered. "All merbabies have magic specifically made to defend themselves. Your friends just so happened to be one of many humans who haved joined our kind due to an encounter with one."
"I still can't believe I've lived my whole life not knowing about this until now. If merpeople are real, what about dragons and elves?" Lupe inquired.
Cura giggled at that. "There's a lot of magic in the world that goes unnoticed by humans. For now, I'm more focused on reuniting you all with your friends."
"Oh, how I would love to see the baby!" Harmony gushed. "I bet it's an adorable little sea angel."
"It is!" Cura agreed.

While back at the village, Damon, Monoca, Tim, Ana, and Chloe were waiting inside a building that could only be described as some sort of small underwater hotel lobby.
Tim and Ana were thinking of what would become of their friends while Chloe was worried sick about her girlfriend. Would Stacy reject the offer and leave her alone to sleep with the fishes?
The merbaby was getting a little fussy, so Monica began to breastfeed the baby, cooing as the baby suckled on a nipple. Damon lovingly watched the endearing sight of his wife nursing a baby, their baby.
Monica was humming when she heard some commotion going on from other merfolk. Dozens of merpeople were swimming out to see what's happening outside.
Nodding to each other, the group of five got up and decided to join in to see what's happening.
