Unbeknownst to Luke, since the moment he put the hind-paws of the costume on his feet it had manipulated him. That was the reason he didn´t want to remove the fore-paws again. And now he wore the full costume.
And when Luke noticed something was wrong it was already to late. As he watched himself in the mirror, he saw little movements on his suit. Exactly in each spot were the individual parts connected. It looked like a bubble running around the spots, and as Luke watched they run around his legs, his arms, his waist and his neck.
“What the …?” he exclaimed as he watched. When the bubbles vanished again, Luke carefully tipped the spot on his right fore-leg with his left fore-paw, only to notice there was no opening anymore, it had merged together. Slowly panicking he tried first his left fore-leg, then his hind-legs, but there was no difference. As his panic reached its peak, he grabbed his head with both fore-paws, and tried to tear it off, only to moan in pain. It didn´t came off, it was locked.
Just as he decided on calling for help and opened his mouth, the latex in the muzzle part liquefied and flowed into it. Luke gagged at that, but couldn´t stop it from flowing down his throat. When the feeling vanished again, he tried to call for help, but only barked loudly instead. “Oh no, I can´t speak” run through his head.
Against his will his body calmed down slowly, and laid down in front of the mirror, eyes wide open. As Luke starred at his wolfish mask, something slowly crept into his mind, calming him there also. “It´s okay, little pup. Nothing is wrong with you. Relax, there is no need to rip your skin apart in panic.”
“No, wait, that isn´t right. I´m human, not a pup, and this isn´t my skin.” Luke tried to reason with himself. “Are you sure, little pup? Aren´t you the loyal, house-protecting pet wolf Luke, with two nice masters?” The latex whispered. “Wasn´t the voice right?” went through Luke´s head. “Yeah, I´m Luke. … But I´m not a pet and have no master.” “Oh, little pup, stop being in denial. You are loyal and obedient to your masters, Kevin and Mike.” The voice worked on.
“But Kevin is my brother, I think, and Mike is my masters name. Wait, that´s not right.” Luke tried to further resist, but the more he tried, the more the whispers fogged his mind up. His denial of being a pet stopped, and soon Kevin and Mike were only his masters, nothing else. When he finally had accepted everything, he fell asleep, dreaming of his life as a loyal pet wolf, and his nice masters.
In the morning, Kevin walked in and grinned at the slumbering rubber wolf. “Dad, I think he is ready” he called out. That woke Luke up, and after shaking himself awake, he trotted over to his master and licked his hand.
When Mike came in, he smiled down at his former son. “Are you hungry, boy?” While he petted Luke´s head, Luke barked once in confirmation. He was an intelligent and clever wolf, after all. He followed his masters into the kitchen obediently, and got a bowl with water set down on a mat, before another bowl with raw meat was set next to it. He waited patiently until his master allowed him to eat his meat.
After breakfast Kevin walked Luke outside on a leach, and Luke behaved like a good dog would, obediently following any order his master gave. Deep down Luke maybe remembered being human, but everything off his old life was suppressed by the new mindset of the wolf he was now.
