The D and D campaign had been a pretty loose one, and "Warini's Company" had been to a wide variety of universes depending on what movies had come out that week or what the DM felt like running. So they were not too surprised to find themselves in a high school--mundane, high technology low magic settings were nothing new. Not since that time Warren had run Grand Theft Auto as a roleplaying game based on a universal system.
Warini was the leader. A highly skilled sorceress from a noble family who had run away to become an adventurer because she didn't like the man picked to marry her. She mostly liked making money adventuring, working on her magic skills, and doing leader things. Since she was good at leader things, she was the leader.
Bellarosa was the thief. Her succubus grandmother had given her a touch of evil and more than a touch of horniness. Most women distrusted her because of her heritage, but Warini had treated her as a friend, and Bellarosa's loyalty was strong. She had also taken the half-ogre Ralkino as a lover--like many of the demon-blooded, Bellarosa like her sex rough. (Playing Bellarosa was one way Billy Barr had dealt with his attraction to men.)
Ralkino was muscle, but smart muscle. Abandoned as a child by unknown parents, the half-ogre had worked his way up in the world by exploiting the fact that people underestimated his intelligence. The fact that his adventuring companions never talked down to him was one reason he stayed with the group. Well, that and regular sex with a quarter-succubus.
Boldar was a dwarf. Absolutely loyal to his word, absolutely trustworthy, but after years of adventuring together the rest of the party knew as much about his background and personal life as they knew five minutes after meeting him--not much.

Oh shit, Erin thought, that D and D bitch took it from me!
