You close your eyes in anticipation for the next changes as you were one minute away from finding out your fate but felt nothing in the end. A full hour had officially passed, and when you open your eyes again, you see the body of the 10-years old Carter dressed in his Scout uniform.
"Damn it nothing has changed…" You mumble.
"What was that, Carter?" Asked Tao.
"Uh… nothing."
After a while, your bus arrived at Camp. Mr Parks (your Scout Den) asked you to get off the bus and to set up your tents, which you felt an obedient instinct to follow. "After all, a true Scout is an obedient scout!" You thought to yourself before realising how uncharacteristic that was.
Hours passed, the first day in camp seemed uneventful, but part of you is thankful for having a friend like Tao with you, the two of you talked about your interests with each conversation your frame of reference grew to match that of Carter’s from his antics at school, or your interests changing, so memories of reading comic books, collecting baseball cards, and of course, Scouting settled in your regressing mind.
Recollections of once being a college freshman, and being called Liam instead of Carter seemed so obscure, and when you and the other boys went to sleep, you dreamt of your previous life as Liam, and when you woke up and left the tent, you greeted your friend Tao.
"Hey, Tao, you're not gonna believe what I dreamt about last night."
"What was it?"
"I had this dream where I was older and in college, and people were calling me by another name like Leon or something…"
"Really? That's so weird."
"Yeah. Anyways, what are we going to do today?"
"Well, Mr Parks said that we're gonna go swimming today."
"Cool!"
