Ted woke up in his apartment. it was the first whole day since his girlfriend moved out and the lack of her presence was overbearing. They had both come to terms that their relationship had run it's course but that didn't mean Ted would be getting by without some form of separation anxiety.
Trying not to dwell on it, Ted got up to get some breakfast, coffee, and food for his dog, Lili. Luckily, work gave him the weekend off for the move, but Becca only took a day to gather her belongings and head out, leaving a couple days for nothing but overthinking.
Ted followed through with the rest of the morning routine, and put on some music to rearrange and clean what was left of his property.
Around 11am, Ted was considering Lunch prep when someone had knocked on his door. He dashed to grab some pants and settled with the sweats he had temporarily tossed on the couch. Readjusting his glasses, he opened the door to see one of his neighbors from down the hall, Milo. He was a middle aged man, fairly average in build but he had lost quite a bit of hair from age. Ted and Milo weren't necessarily close as friends nor as neighbors, but Ted had respect for the guy.
Standing just taller than Ted, he leaned in a bit to talk,
"Howdy Ted"
"Morning, Milo, can I help you with something?"
"Yes, I dont mean to bother ya or take up your time, I just received a package with your name written on it - they must've gotten the address wrong, that's all" he stopped, handing the package over.
"Oh! Thank you so much", Ted said, grasping at the large rectangular box "can't say I remember what it might be - don't remember ordering anything."
"Maybe it was that girl of yours, tell Becca I say hi, now," Milo finished, beginning to step away.
"R-right," Ted stuttered, deciding not to inform Milo of recent events. "Have a good day." He finished before shutting the door.
Lili gave the box a couple sniffs before becoming immediately disinterested, but Ted figured he'd investigate further.
The packaging slip was labeled with his name, which would be abnormal for Becca to do unless it was a present, and that he seriously doubted at this point. It was a standard cardboard box that had a black lid with some business logo printed on top - Ted didn't recognize it.
Upon opening it, he had found an entire outfit of women's clothing. Even stranger is that it definitely wasn't something Becca would wear, nor were the sizes right. He found a pink Blazer and business skirt, a white button-up and some black pumps. Everything seemed just too small to fit him, but definitely larger than Becca's petite frame.
Out of impulse and nothing else, Ted slung the pink blazer over his t-shirt, and was surprised at just how comfy it felt - practically a perfect fit. Even buttoning it up didn't hold his waist too tight. It must've looked funny, so he took himself to the bathroom to get a good look in the mirror.
Walking in, he found himself stunned and confused trying to make sense of what looked back at him. He looked skinnier, almost unnaturally so, with his waist coming down to a point. As strange as that was, it wasn't nearly as startling as his hands, which were now daintier, soft, and a much darker skin tone now. With manicured nails, this hands now seemed extremely feminine...
