Jake parked his car in the back of the school parking lot. As a junior, he hated having to park so far away from the school, especially on a cool morning like today. He couldn't wait until he was a senior and got the privileges that were reserved for them. He sniffed and reached for the tissues. This cold better not stop him from playing football well in practice this afternoon. He selfishly thought he could get Blake, the senior quarterback, sick and then take his place.
Jake scowled thinking about Blake. That asshole, along with his linebacker buddies, Darren and Hunter, had decided to bully some wimpy freshman who dared made the mistake of making eye-contact with Blake in the bathroom. They tried to pressure Jake into joining as well. Jake refused, wanting nothing to do with any of that. They threatened to de-pants him with the freshman and ruin Jake's reputation by spreading rumors of the pair being a gay couple. Jake hated himself for what he had chosen, but he chose to move the freshman into the girls' bathroom where fewer people would see the poor guy.
A sudden sneeze broke Jake's concentration. The world seemed to go blurry for a moment. He shook his head, and his vision cleared. He felt a subtle sense that something was different. He looked around. He was still in his normal parking spot at the very front of the parking lot. His body was still the same muscular form befitting of a senior quarterback.
His thoughts then returned to Blake. To hell with that second-string prick's opinion! Who cares what he thinks? Jake was the senior quarterback, for crying out loud! How dare they try to bully him! The first thing he was going to do when he saw them next was give those three a piece of his mind.
Jake stepped out of the car and walked into the school. A pair of cheerleaders smiled and blushed when he walked by. He smiled politely at them. Normally, he'd give them a nod and a flirtatious wink. But he wasn't really in the mood for that. He reached his locker and silently grabbed the books he'd need for his first class. The bell rang, and Jake started to walk to his first class. He spotted Hunter walking at a snail's pace ahead of him. To his surprise, he also spotted that same freshman. He curiously eyed Jake with an unreadable expression. Jake would've thought the guy would have been terrified of Jake. Does Jake go talk to him, confront Hunter, or just go to class? He sniffed again. Hopefully he wouldn't sneeze again.
