"Um, if it's my choice, I'd like to share a room with Champ." Derrick grinned. "Sounds like I can expect some interesting nights."
The centaur grinned back "Oh, I don't wait for nightfall. And it looks like Hermes already has you started on the equine path. Come on!" Champ started trotting out of the Spa, and Derrick had to jog to keep up. They left the area frequented by tourists, and surroundings got plainer and older looking. The fancy decorations and elaborate clothing was replaced by rough wood and nudity, and many more beasts and monsters were around. In fact, as Derrick followed the centaur, he saw that there were no humans around at all. He felt a bit awkward as they moved through the wide hallways, getting a little clumsy and heavy-footed, but feeling more at home than he he ahd in the Spa area.
Champ's 'room' was actually a large stall in a stable that had a variety of horses, centaurs, pegusi, and other equine beings. Curious humanoid equines appeared to work as stablehands, though Champ's stall looked unkempt, if mostly clean. It wasn't until Derrick ahd joined the centaur inside that he realized Champ looked a lot smaller than he had before. The black centaur chuckled as he walked around Derrick, and said "You must really be longing for hooves! I never saw anyone change so fast!"
When Derrick looked puzzled, Champ showed him a mirror set on the far wall. The reflection was startling - standing next to the young centaur was a humanoid horse, no longer recognizable as ever having been human, much less looking anything like Derrick had. The light coating of hair had thickened into a black coat much like Champ's, and his head was much more equine. However, the biggest change was to his arms and hands, which were obviously altering into forelegs and hooves. "Oh, wow! I'm gonna be a real horse!" The words came out garbled and more like whinnies, but the centaur nodded.
"Yep. So, you want to give or receive? If we let things go on without interference, I am pretty sure you'll end up as a big black stallion. Or I can do some tweaks and make you a fine young filly. Either way, you'll be a hundred percent horse by morning."
