It had been two months now since Villars attack and the merging of the magical realms. Things had not gone smoothly in that time.
Cole and Kumiko were still in custody, detained pending a formal investigation is what government officials had told their families. Ann had been in constant contact with her sister during that time. Thankfully Lisa was okay and so were the girls. While they did have to answer some questions, they appeared to be in the clear.
Ann though was still worried. Kumikos daughter was still nowhere to be seen, along with two kids from the other timeline named Mia and Zack. Ann had learned from Jackie that the search parties that had been sent out still couldnt find them. It appeared the kids were quite adept at covering their tracks. As Ann now paced inside her apartment she couldnt help but worry. Hopefully a weekend with Jackie would help put her at ease.
A knock at her door now forced a smile to crack across Ann's face. Making her way towards the door, Ann flung it open, surprised to see the 16 year old Jackie at her doorstep.
"Hello darling," Ann smiled. "Wasnt expecting to see you like this."
"I'm full of surprises Angel," Jackie grinned as she entered Ann's apartment.
"So," Ann smirked. "You planning on bringing me down to your level or are you babysitting this weekend?"
"Maybe," Jackie teased. "But first things first, you want to have some dinner? I'm starved."
Ann happily obliged, quickly preparing a meal for the two age crossed lovers. As they now sat at the table Jackie could clearly see the worry on Ann's face.
"What's bothering you Angel?"
"Its that project I told you about," Ann sighed. "Project White Knight."
"I thought Stephanie and Michelle were helping you with that," Jackie said.
"They are," Ann said. "Stephanie has been my right hand so to speak and Michelle has been handling the conference calls and taking messages. But theres something else about it."
"What," Jackie asked.
Ann bit her lip nervously gazing at her teenage girlfriend. She had wanted to gather as much information on the project before telling Jackie and the others. After two monthes and several prototypes Ann now knew what these suits would be used for. Still, she had a feeling Jackie would be angry she hadn't said anything earlier.
"Jackie the project I've been working on is a government contract," she said. "Specifically a military one."
"Now I know why you've been so secretive about it," Jackie grinned. "So what are you building? Hi-tech planes? laser rifles? Robots?"
"Its a battle suit," Ann sighed. "Specifically a suit designed to combat magic."
"Oh," Jackie said quickly, her eyes growing wide with both anger and surprise.
"Jackie," Ann pleaded. "Listen I wanted to tell you about it but I needed to get more information first. Today though I met the governments contact and the saw what she wanted to add to the design."
"Who was it," Jackie asked.
"Abolith," Ann whispered. "I, I recognized her almost immediately. She's working with the military to bring the project online. Their useing magic to protect the suits and to cancel any magic around it. I think they're specifically trying to target your magic."
"Did she recognize you," Jackie asked. Ann shook her head, reminding Jackie that she had been a teenager the day her and Malak attacked Adam's car.
Jackie said nothing, still in shock. "I wanted to tell you sooner," Ann pleaded. "I've been trying to gather as much information about the suits as possible. Right now their are only a handful of prototypes. That's gonna change though in about a month when we move to mass produce."
Jackie said nothing, standing she now looked at her ring. Ann now watched as the ring began to glow.
Jackie began to age, her body maturing as she left her teens and entered adulthood. Ann could see Jackie's face maturing, her curves expanding as her breasts increased to adult proportions. As the woman left her 20s and sped into its 30s, Ann could see Jackie's body continue to mature. The face of the young woman wasnt so young anymore. By the time Jackie became 43, Ann could see Jackie was now a mature woman with small lines around her eyes, her curves softened, while her large breasts showed a small amount of sag. What happened next completely shocked Ann.
Jackie's body began to slim. At first Ann thought Jackie was returning to her teens. As she watched a little closer though she could see the woman was very much still an adult. Ann now watched as Kackies face and breasts began to change. Kackies breasts decreased a cup size while her face reformed. Ann could only gasp as she saw Jackie's face now become her own.
The final part of the spell now began. Kackies brunette hair began to shorten, slowly rising to shoulder length. As it did Ann could see the girls brunette locks begin to lighten, slowly but surely becoming blond. As the spell completed Ann now stared at her Jackie, seeing she had become her doppleganger.
"Darling," Ann asked, her voice barely audible.
"Angel," Jackie answered. "Listen I'm not mad. I understand. You helped by getting as much information as possible."
"So what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to your office Ann " Jackie stated. "I need to see Project White Knight for myself."
