What neither Yafeu or Nash knew was that the Chronivac was designed with situations such as this in mind, and in the event that the original user had the Chronivac removed from their possession by force and the thief made 'dangerous edits', it would activate and correct the situation.
As a book, this activation took the form of the book glowing in Nash's hands, resulting in him dropping it in surprise. The glow grew brighter and brighter and, in an instant, Jeff regained his memories, before everything went white.
When he could see again, he could see that he was at home once again, lying on the floor with the Chronivac back in its original, electronic form beside him. He sat up and moved to pick it up, and noticed his hand was still unchanged, meaning he had remained a 12 year old black boy. He shrugged off this realization, just glad to be home, and picked up the Chronivac.

"Huh... lucky," Jeff muttered, tapping the back button. "Guess I should get out of these clothes first... this should work," he added, spotting and pressing a 'delete chameleon clothes' option.
He was now naked, in a very different body to what he had 24 hours ago, but he was at least home.
