My thoughts drifted towards the fantastical. Mermaids. Yes mermaids. I would transform the eight lovely ladies before me into beauties of the sea. Now there were a few things I considered before I made my wish. For one thing, the method of transformation. So many works of fantasy where the characters transform into mermaids use a method where the tail is a result of combined and modified legs. However, there was another option. I could do something a little more sci-fi, a little more “biologically accurate”. Obviously I’m using the term loosely, since mermaids don’t exist, but if they did, then their tails would be...well, tails. A modified tailbone. In this case their tails would grow from the base of their spines, and their legs and feet would recede into pelvic fins. That could be fun.
The other kind of wish I would want to make concerns how diverse I would want them to be. I could turn them all into generic “classic” mermaids with mono-colored tails and fins, or I could spice things up and give each one of them the lower half of a specific fish or other sea creature, turning one into a shark mermaid, or an eel mermaid, or an angler fish mermaid. Hm, decisions, decisions.
