The sound of laugher filled the air, as Marcus spun around to try to find the source. When he did his eyes locked on a door, the sound coming from it seamed normal enough as he moved toward it. He reached out and touched the polished bronzed handle looking up as he did. The symbol on the center of the door was strange it was a seashell.
“Seashell?” inquired Marcus as he opened the door, when he did he saw a dark almost endless void. “Hello?”
No one answered
“Hello?” he said again as he took a step inside, the moment his feet touched the floor it gave way as he fell forward the door snapping shut behind him. He fell into the void, the air whipping past him as he fell his screams filling the air. As he fell the void began to lighten as the void became first a dark blue sky which lightened with each passing second. The air became filled with the smell of sea salt and he could hear the crashing of waves. He looked down just in time to sea a deep blue ocean rushing up to meet him.
“SON OF A BITCH!!!” he screamed as he pulled himself into a protective position as he slammed hard into the water. He smashed through the surface, the stink hurting more then any bellyflot he had ever done but he remained awake. He opened his eyes the water stinging them as he smashed into the soft sandy bottom. He let out a gasp as the air in his lungs escape. Reacting on instinct he swam to the surface and took a deep breath of fresh air.
“HELP!!! HELP!!!” Marcus screamed as he looked around, he could see some green palm trees in the far distance but much closer to him was a small rocky outcropping. With all his effort he swam to that outcropping which sat maybe four feet above the sea level. Lucky the water was gentle, and he made it to the rock in less than a minute.
“What the hell?” inquired Marcus as he coughed and tried to catch, he breath as he looked around. He seamed to be in the middle of an ocean, he could sea tropical islands in the distance, but they had to be miles away, much closer was a ring of beautiful rich coral. “Where am I?”
“You are right where you belong.” Said a new voice coming from the other side of the rock as Marcus’s eyes widened as he slowly began to turn. “Welcome.”
