Colin stood up, shaking his head as he realized he was standing in the doorway of a hotel room.
“Room 83... wait... that’s Harmony’s room!” Shelby yelled.
“That was easy.” Lynn smiled.
Colin turned to enter the room when he suddenly froze in place.
“Huh? Is this a glitch? Can magic glitch?” Lynn asked.
“It’s not that...” Shelby said.
The entire hotel had frozen; it was like time itself had completely stopped outside the van.
Suddenly, Mrs. Sunderland appeared inside the crystal ball, sitting in a throne as their friends’ souls slowly withered away.
“Did you really think it would be that easy?” The teacher asked coldly.
“What the hell?!” Lynn panicked, “How’d you-?”
“Dear girl, I’ve been channeling these powers since before you were born...” Mrs. Sunderland coldly grinned. “you honestly believe I couldn’t sense that accursed seal being cast?”
The pair gasped as she grabbed Harmony’s soul and squeezed it tight. In the hotel, Shelby and Lynn could see Harmony’s wrinkles and laugh lines fade away in the shower, her joints popping as they regained a youthful energy. Just like that, she was back to being in her twenties just like that! Her hair turned bleach blonde and silky smooth, her voice becoming more melodic as she sang in the shower.
