Luisa advanced in your direction as a hungry animal. You hit her with the bar, the blow seemed to have fractured her skull, but she remained standing in front of you, insensitive to the pain. A single tear ran down her cheek from her left eye and you feel something moving inside of you head. In a corner of your mind you want to think that there is a way to help her, to return her to normal, but another part of you, hardened by life, tells you that this is the only thing you can do to help her.
A second blow knocks her to the ground where she remains prostrate. You hoped that blow would finally end her suffering. You run back to the entrance of the bunker. Behind you you could hear an animal call. There seemed to be more than one of those creatures nesting in the bunker. Your fears are realized when you see a shadow swaying from the other side of the tunnel making you, run faster. The first shadow was joined by a second and thus up to half a dozen figures advanced in search of their new prey.
A flash of light blinds you. You try to use the bar against that new threat but the familiar sound of a weapon being prepared to shot, stops you in your tracks.
"Get down!" It was a masculine and definitely human voice. The light from the flashlight did not let you see his features but you could see a dark shape whit what looked like a firearm.
You drop to the ground and put your hands over your ears in preparation for the chaos that was going to unleash in that corridor. The clatter of a machine gun filled the hallway followed by animal screams of pain echoing from across the hall. The noise stopped and a gloved hand entered your field of vision. Your rescuer was offering you his hand.
"Come on" You take his hand. You see your rescuer for the first time. It was a bulky guy dressed like a SWAT carrying a silver submachine gun, a stream of smoke coming from the barrel tip. With urgent gestures, the SWAT points towards the bunker door "We have to get out of here!"
The two of you leave that nightmare place. A second figure dressed like your rescuer awaits you outside, but his face was hidden behind a gas mask.
"John, what ...!" He looked alarmed.
"This place is infested." It was all he to get him moving to the exit door.
The three of you head back to the surface by the same ladder you used with Luisa. Your rescuer, John, stops midway and returns to the door that led to the basement.
"What are you doing?" The policeman with the mask asked. He had no intention of spending another second in that hole. You could relate.
"It will only be a second."
With a spray can that he kept in one of his vest pockets, he wrote a notice on the door in black letters:
ALL DEAD, DO NOT ENTER.
"Come on! Is time to get out of here."
After this, the three of you return to the surface leaving behind that infernal hole on the ground.
