Terry was unable to answer Tom, as a searing pain shot through his arms. He let out an uncontrolled screech, again deafening his friends. He watched as his arms became covered in a coat of short brown fur and his fingers elongated. As they grew, dark webbing formed between them and progressed up his arms. Soon his hands took the form of enormous bat wings. They tore apart his sleeves as the webbing expanded, finally connecting with his torso.
When it finally stopped, Terry explained. "Yellow spaces enhance the last transformation you went through. In my case, it turned me more into a bat by giving me these wings."
"Actually, that's not all it did," Hannah pointed out. "Your blond hair is dark brown now, and your bat ears are covered in fur as well."
Terry lifted a wing to his head to feel the changes, forgetting he no longer had the small hands of a human. After slapping himself in the face with his own wing, he awkwardly brushed it over his head to feel the fur.
"Hey, watch where you flap those things," Dave complained.
"If I could see where you were, I would," Terry protested. "Unless you want me to use my sonar screech again."
"Never mind," Dave sighed. He reached for the dice and rolled.
