"All right, let's keep this game moving. Maybe there's a card in there that will stop Hannah's transformation." Tom quickly grabbed the dice and rolled a 3 and a 2. Moving his counter and drawing a card, he read aloud:
Patience is what you must learn.
Take some time to think next turn.
Stone you'll be until the dice
Have passed your way not once, but twice.
Immediately after reading that, Tom froze. The others watched in horror as his entire body, including his clothing, turned a light gray color. Hannah reached forward and pawed his legs, feeling cold stone.
"He's a statue," she said. As Dave pulled the game card from his rock-solid grip, Hannah's transformation into a cat continued. Her ears moved up to the top of her head while simultaneously reshaping to become pointed cat ears, covered in the same color fur that covered the rest of her body. She also began to shrink out of her shirt, getting closer to the size of a normal cat. "I don't think I have much time left, guys..."
