After school, Alex had soccer practice. It was a game he loved, and where he’d made some good friends. But he kind of wanted to try something else: football.
There was just one problem: the boys on the middle school football team were jerks. Alex didn’t want to be around them all the time. But now he had the power to mix things up and solve his problem.
That day at practice, Alex said hi to his friends and his coaches. The head coach, Wyatt Jackson, was a 26-year-old former player and star striker, and still maintained a tight, lean body and handsome face beneath his black hair. The assistant coach was Simon Edwards, one of the 17-year-old captains of the high school soccer team. He was a star goalie and was also lean and handsome.
Alex put on his jersey, shin guards, and cleats and started warming up. But then he saw the football head coach, Dan Colson, and assistant coach, Harry O’Conner, who was a high school football stud. In the distance he also saw the football boys warming up. The football coaches were arguing with the soccer coaches, and while Dan jabbed a finger in Wyatt’s chest, Harry actually shoved Simon.
Alex’s blood boiled. This was the last straw. He muttered, “I wish that all of the football players and coaches were soccer players and coaches, and vice versa.”
