"Alright," David considered aloud to themselves as they moved down the stairs and into the basement. "Let's think about this logically." There was a brief pause in their steps on the stairs as they looked out across the open downstairs living area. "Or... as logically as one can think about magic."
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, David lifted the phone to look at the app. They ignored the 3D map view for the moment, tapping on themselves and clicking through some of the suggested '100% accurate' statements from the app. Considering some of the statements it made, David considered their options.
There was a bit of a knocking coming from the utility closet where the air conditioning was housed. The downstairs bathroom/laundry room combo's door was open, and the guest room was just beyond it. On this side of the living space, David's door to their room was still shut.
"OK. Let's see," they considered, taking a seat next to the downstairs fireplace. "I could change myself... or my life... if I get the right combination of words." They kept considering their options. "Or I could help mom. Or I could change Frank. Or I could do any number of other things..."
David trailed off, considering their options. "OK, well. There's too many options, so let's narrow it down. So... what can I do within fifty feet of myself, using this app?" They asked. But after a brief moment, David knew exactly what they were going to do and declared: "I'm going to change—"
