The next morning, Tina wakes Leah up bright and early. True to her word, Leah had been allowed to wear and act like the teenager she is when they got home from the store. But now, the punishment begins.
It starts with Tina laying out a very babyish outfit for Leah: a frilly pink dress, thick diaper, patterned diaper cover, tights, and pink sandals. Leah reluctantly dresses herself, putting the diaper on slightly clumsily, and goes downstairs. Part of her worries that Tina has prepared a bottle of baby formula for her to eat for breakfast, but thankfully, Tina still keeps her promise, allowing Leah to have a proper meal instead of formula or baby food.
Leah morosely munches on her cereal as Tina calls the high school. Tina claims that Leah has become very ill, and on doctor’s orders, is not allowed to leave the house for a week. She asks that someone bring over Leah’s schoolwork, so that she won’t fall behind. The school believes the lie. Tina sets down her phone.
“All right, Leah, time to go to daycare,” she coos. Leah swallows her last bite of breakfast. “Go to the bathroom, since we’ll be leaving soon. When you’re done, call me in so that I can properly diaper you. I can tell from here that you did it wrong, sweetie.” Leah blushes furiously, but hops off her chair and goes to the bathroom.
“I’m done!” she calls once she’s finished. Tina enters. She lays Leah on her back and quickly and efficiently diapers her.
“I’ll diaper you each morning before we leave,” Tina informs her. “Just so that you get the genuine baby experience.” Leah nods silently, praying that the morning diapering will be the only one she gets. It’ll be difficult, but hopefully she’ll be able to hold it until they get home and she’s allowed to use the bathroom again.
At the car, Leah is buckled into a car seat. Tina pops a pacifier into her mouth.
“There. No one would ever suspect you’re a teenager,” Tina says. She takes a picture with her phone and shows it to Leah. Leah’s eyes boggle. The girl in the photo looks like an older baby or a younger toddler. How is that girl her?
As they drive to the daycare, Tina goes over the rules for Leah.
“I’m telling the other workers that you’re my niece, Hailey, and I’m watching you this week.” Leah is relieved to hear that no one will know who she really is. “You need to act like the little girl you’re dressed as. If you’re not sure how a little girl would respond to something, you can just stay quiet or cry.” They pull into the parking lot of the daycare. “And remember, no sneaking off to the bathroom. Either use your diaper or hold it until we get home. Understand?” Leah nods. “Good.”
Tina unbuckles Leah from her car seat and carries her inside. After Tina tells the receptionist her lie, they go deeper into the daycare, entering a room populated with very young children. Judging by the bulges around their waists, Leah’s new peers are all wearing diapers. Tina sets Leah down.
“Go ahead and play, Hailey,” she coos. Tina leaves Leah and goes to the other adult in the room. As they talk, Leah looks around. She’s never been to Tina’s work before. It’s not that bad. Maybe she won’t have as terrible a time as she thought.
The hope that Leah won’t be completely miserable is dashed when…
