Gloria and Millie raced for home with Lizzy by their side. What was originally meant to be an afternoon of lighthearted fun, had become a truely surreal experience. Both women were now preteens with a 5 year old girl in tow. As the three of them raced upstairs Gloria immediately checked the Chronovac.
"Well what can you tell me," Millie asked.
Gloria scooted forward in the chair, happily able to firmly place her feet on the ground. "Well we're 12," she said.
"Duh," Millie sighed, rolling her eyes. "Can you figure out why we keep changing ages? Or why are brains are so fuzzy?"
Gloria now began scrolling through the options of the Chronovac, amazed she seemed to be able to navigate the app expertly. "How do I know this stuff," she thought. "Is this because I'm 12? Do all kids know how to do computer stiff so easily?"
"Well," Millie exclaimed.
"I think the app may be a bit screwy," Gloria said. "It looks like the app I downloaded is a Beta program. It still has some bugs in the system, which is why it's been so wonky."
"Can you fix it," Millie asked.
"I think I can download a patch," Gloria said. "And it's free but it's going to take awhile to download."
"Well that's a relief at least," Millie sighed. "I mean it's fun being young but I'm not trying to become a kid for real."
"Know the feeling," Gloria grumbled. "But the app is still running. Theirs a chance we could see some more age changes before the patch downloads."
"So we could end up younger or older than we are right now," Millie asked.
"Yeah and worse," Gloria stated. "Lizzy could be affected too."
The two 12 year olds now looked to one another as they thought of the 5 year old girl downstairs. They now worried that they may have inadvertently brought the girl into their problem.
