“…we’re leaving.” An enormous weight lifts off Leah’s shoulders at those words. She takes Tina’s hand and the two say their goodbyes before heading to the car. Like before, Leah is buckled into a car seat.
“What do you need to take care of?” Leah asks as Tina gets into the driver’s seat. Tina frowns at her.
“What happened to method acting? You messed yourself to sell your role, don’t throw that away,” Tina says. Leah sighs.
“Why go?” she asks. Tina smiles.
“Better.” She starts the car. They pull away from Tonya’s house. “Apparently, there was a power outage at the daycare. Everyone’s fine, but all the electronic records have been mixed up. They need all hands on deck to sort things out.”
“Oh.”
“Don’t worry,” Tina says breezily. “I’ve already figured out what to do with you while I’m helping out at work.”
