"Dude!" Seth cut in, loudly. Morgan had just yelled. "Let's talk outside, why don't we?"
Morgan was about to argue when his own body roughly pulled him up. While he wouldn't consider himself in good shape, a childhood of chores and working to put himself into college had made sure his arms were strong. So when he saw his own body pulling him up easily in Seth's body, he wasn't too surprised. The other contributing factor being that Seth was about a foot shorter than him, and far scrawnier.
Caleb in Andrew's body was also yanked up, with some difficulty by Andrew in Caleb's wiry but tall form.
They were lead out into the hall, and after Seth looked both ways to make sure they had some privacy, rounded on Morgan and Caleb in their nerdy new bodies.
"Look, I'm sorry we did this to you guys. Here's the thing, we didn't know if you'd go through with this, and we don't plan on this being a permanent thing. Mostly we wanted to try this out... but we're not like, trying to steal your lives." Seth explained.
"But this isn't cool, we didn't agree to it. It's just real sus that you decided to snake us like that." Morgan hissed. They were trying to be somewhat discreet.
"I know, I know. But would you have wanted to become that?" Seth pointed out. He gestured to the body Morgan now inhabited. Morgan, without even needing to feel it, could sense the greasiness of his scalp, the short brown hair almost buzzed steeped in oils. Even worse, his face was crowning with acne, and also felt slick with oil. He also noticed he was just colder now. He understood why Seth had worn the cardigan over the tee-shirt. He had like no fat, so there was little protection against the cold.
Caleb in Andrew's body also took account of his new form. He felt his chin, with the stupid goatee that Andrew insisted on keeping, scratchy and patchy. His hair now was wavy, and gelled, which he had never done to his hair in his real body. He was also getting used to being shorter, - Morgan too - but he felt almost like he was rewound a few years to when he was a pre-teen. He gained height quickly through high school, so this felt like a regression, if not in age at least in stature. He was wearing a dark flannel over a white tee. The jeans he wore were also black, now.
"So when do we reverse this?" Caleb asked.
"A couple weeks?" Andrew posited.
"Weeks?!" Caleb and Morgan exclaimed at the same time.
"Yeah, maybe?" Seth shrugged. "Look, y'all aren't like 'cool' but you do have more friends than we do. And we just want to feel what that's like. You know how awkward we are. This is a chance for us to be... not like us?"
"But why couldn't you just like... try to be more outgoing as Seth and Andrew?" Morgan asked, sharply. "This is the most insane way of trying to make friends. In fact, don't you think you'll lose more friends when we tell the other guys what you did?"
Seth, with Morgan's face, suddenly darkened. "Well, I suppose you could. But here's the thing. You two could tell Victor and Alan what happened. And then we never switch back. Or, you roll with this plan, and you get your chubby spare-tire back in few weeks and Caleb get's his beanpole back too. Or worse yet, we switch y'all with some of the homeless guys down at the gas station by Selnick Street."
Morgan glared at them while Caleb blanched.
"You wouldn't." Morgan attempted to call them.
"What's stopping us? We have honed our skills with the Mindweft... and other things. Literally all you have to do is be chill about this, and you don't have to worry." Seth assured, half-nice, half-threatening.
"But wouldn't you be stuck as some homeless guys?" Caleb questioned.
"No, but I won't tell you how we'd avoid that. But let's just say that if WE'RE being nice if it comes to that, it won't be you two who end up begging for coin on the corner. What we showed you of the Mindweft... that was but a taste of what can be done. There's so much more to it. And we'd be happy to show you. Just be cool!" Seth said. Again toeing the line of evil and sincere niceness.
"So what do we do. Just pretend to be you guys?" Morgan inquired.
"To everyone else, yeah. That's what we're going to tell Victor and Alan." Andrew said.
"But to Victor and Alan, you can pretend to be Seth and Andrew who switched bodies, or we can tell them you two switched with us. But don't mention the bamboozling, of course. How would you like to play it?" Seth offered.
