Moving five spaces, Terry pushed Tom's counter to the door. Tom held the gold key in his hands, wondering if he needed to touch it to the door or do something else with it. As if in answer to his thoughts, the key vanished, and so did the door. Terry pushed his piece one square onto the newly opened path.
I can't really pick up his card," Terry said, gesturing with his wings.
Sue tried to bend forward, but her hair caught. "Hannah's got me pinned down," she told them. She started to gently stroke Hannah's head with one of her hands as she purred.
Snorting, Tom once again awkwardly fell on his forelegs and reached for his card. Righting himself, he read aloud:
You stand above the players as a noble, fair and true.
Now see what it's like to have the rest taller than you.
Tom quickly found his world growing all around him. The ceiling retreated into the air, while the ground got closer and closer. His shirt crumpled on top of him, and he struggled to free himself. When he finally emerged from the cloth, he was still a centaur, but now he was a mere six inches tall. Terry waddled up to him, just a tad higher than Tom. "Welcome to the ground," Terry joked.
"You're so cute!" Sue giggled. "Like a My Little Pony."
"Yeah, well thank God the game didn't turn my fur purple or even plastic," Tom said with a smile. "I could practically take my counter's place on the game board."
