Having seen the collar appear around Jennifer's neck -- and then Jason's demonstration of the name-changing ability -- Kevin and Jennifer decided they should see what the girls were up to, just in case they were experimenting with the necklaces.
They put their clothes back on and went in search of the girls, finding them upstairs fairly quickly because they had the TV on at a high volume. They were relieved to see the girls fully dressed -- at least, as "fully" as they'd been half an hour ago -- and just lying around watching TV.
"Hi, Daddy," said Annie, as her collar read. "We think this is supposed to be my room."
"Aren't you a little uncomfortable lying on the floor like that?" asked Kevin.
"We wanted to be closer to Jason," said the girl whose collar identified her as Kimmi. "But now he's just talking about the next stops on his tour."
"Then it might be time for bed," suggested Kevin.
"But what if Jason does something else?" asked Annie with a bit of a whine in her voice.
"Honey, I think whatever he does, we'll be finding out about it pretty quickly," pointed out Jennifer.
Candi piped up from the bed. "Well, I wish we'd hear any important stuff right away!"
There was a flash of light from the corner of the room nearest the door. Kevin and Jennifer turned around to see that on the wall was now a public-address speaker similar to one that would be found in a school. Underneath it was a plaque reading "ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM GOD."
At his press conference, Jason was saying, "As many of you may have seen, I've just acted upon an idea I got from a fan -- someone who was at my concert tonight, in fact."
"He means me!" exclaimed an excited Candi.
"Shh!" said Kevin.
"...are now everywhere, and I'll use them for making announcements I think everyone should hear immediately. Let me try them out now."
There was a faint click from the speaker and a barely-audible hum. On TV, Jason didn't move his mouth, but these words came from the speaker in his voice...
