"Okay, let me pick a good wish that someone made overnight," Jason said. "Oh, during my press conference last night, I mentioned people who didn't care for my music. Let's see... one of those is Robert Egerton of Denver, Colorado. What did he wish for?"
Jason looked up, and a male voice was heard loud and clear saying, "Jeez, I can't believe Kelly lied about her age and got a navel piercing. I wish she hadn't done that."
Jason said, "I know the story, but you should see the people involved."
A fourth and fifth chair appeared on the set of the morning show, a camera zooming out quickly to show everyone. The new arrivals were a forty-something man in a T-shirt and shorts plus a plain-looking brunette girl in her mid-teens wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants. The man looked bewildered, but the girl figured it out immediately. "Oh, my God!" she practically sobbed. "It's J-J-J --"
"Shh, shh, shh," said Jason. He got up and stood behind the girl's chair, reaching down to take her hand. She looked up at him reverently.
The girl, Kelly according to her choker, had calmed down and said, in little more than a whisper, "I-I just tried out my new tongue. I love it."
"That's good," said Jason, "but I'm actually more interested in your belly button. Can you stand up and show everyone?"
A bit shaky, she had to lean on the arm of the chair as she stood up, but she did manage to raise the hem of her sweatshirt to reveal a silver barbell piercing her navel. The area was still a bit red.
Jason said, "Looks fine to me. Robert, what's your problem with it?"
He was still looking around nervously.
"Robert, answer me!" commanded Jason.
Robert's eyes went wide and he stuttered, "It j-j-just is something that -- that I think is -- well, is kind of slutty. I-I think Kelly's too young to be a sexpot."
"Hmm," Jason mused. "How does her mother feel about the piercing?"
"She, uh, she's been on a business trip to Seattle all week," Robert replied. "I just found out about it yesterday, and when we talked last night, all this weirdness was happening and it -- it slipped my mind."
"Weirdness?" Jason raised an eyebrow. Miley giggled.
Robert tried to backpedal. "Uh, I-I mean, uh..."
Jason raised a hand. "I know what you mean. Kelly, did your mother know about the piercing?"
"No," admitted the teen.
"Then why don't I bring her here?" Jason asked rhetorically. "There's just one little catch, though..."
