At the pool, it’s more difficult to tell that a child is unattended. It also has the added bonus of being the last spot Jacob saw Seth. Jacob decides to head to the pool.
Just outside of the pool entrance is a Lost and Found box. Jacob rummages through it, looking for a swimsuit to wear. She’ll stick out like a sore thumb in her current clothing. Thankfully, she manages to locate a pink toddler girl one piece, a pink swim diaper, and Barbie brand wing floaties. Jacob ducks behind a nearby plant to change into her new outfit. It’s a lot more pink than she’d like, but with her current age and gender, she’ll have to get used to it.
Jacob marches into the pool area and makes a beeline for the shallow toddler and baby pool. No one bats an eye as she seamlessly joins a group of fellow toddlers, splashing around and shrieking with fun. She gets caught up in playing as well, and as such, doesn’t realize until it’s too late what she’s gotten herself into.
“All right, little otters, time to dry off!” An adult ushers Jacob and her new friends out of the pool and begins to dry them off. Jacob’s blood runs cold. She’s accidentally joined…
