Tony looked down at her bizarre but amazing shape. This TransDem Labs seemed far too reckless already, letting her get stuck like this. If even they have to deny responsibility...
"Just fill a bathtub for me," she said.
Jack got up to do that, almost walking into the wall on the way out because he couldn't stop staring at Tony. He was just glad it wasn't him.
When the water was running, he came back, armed with clothes stolen from Emma's father. The gang dressed themselves with relief, glad to be in shapes that fit inside human clothing again. Even Tony was at least able to wear a shirt.
"Well, do you want us to carry you?" asked Jack.
Tony didn't much like the idea of being carried around, especially in this shape. She turned back onto her front and started squirmed toward the door. "Yeeouch! Dammit!" she screamed as one of her rapidly drying scales caught on the edge of the doorway and was pulled loose. "Fine, carry me." She was slender and light enough that Jack was able to do so with ease, politely not mentioning how amazing was to be carrying an actual, beautiful mermaid. Eric and Jeff followed, carrying Emma the turtle and the Chronivac.
Tony sighed with relief when Jack let her flop into the bathtub, which had a several inches of water now. Her scales looked healthier already, glistening in the light.
"Well, what do we do with Emma now?" asked Eric, who was now holding her by the back of her shell so she couldn't bite his hand.
