Unable to look Kyle in the eyes, Eric said, “Sorry. I just couldn’t resist.”
“It’s okay. I understand, but did you really think that nobody would notice you coming in the gym. Hell, one of the guys from the team spotted you even before I did.”
“Like I said, I’m really sorry.”
Sighing in exasperation, “Dude, I’m not mad. Hell, the guys were wondering if anyone knew who you are. When I told them I did, they practically pushed me in here to invite you to work out with us.”
“Really!” Eric exclaimed.
“Well, duh. A guy walks into the gym with the body, and apparently the hair, of a bear, just after one of the linemen on the team broke his leg. What do you think they want? They want you on the team.”
Seeing the excitement written across Erics rounded face, “Finish getting change and I’ll introduce you to the rest of the team.”
“Did you get invited to join too?”
“Yeah. Apparently one of the wide receiver got caught taking drugs, and since I now have the body for it, they made sure that I would come to the try outs tomorrow. But would you mind if I get back my jacket?”
Laughing together as they left the locker room, Kyle lead Eric over to the football players and started to introduce him. Quickly falling in with the other linemen, Eric was soon lifting obscene amounts of weight, which impressed and delighted the players while causing Eric only to smile more and more. After a few hours, completely soaked in sweat, Eric was asked by some of the other linemen if he would like to grab a bight to eat with them. When his stomach immediately gave off a deafening grown, Eric could only sheepishly rub the back of his neck while the other guys teased him.
Kyle had also been working out, but while Eric was trying to lift as much weight as possible, he was trying to work the muscles that he would need as a wide receiver. Fortunately, the football players were more than happy to point out which exercises would be the ones to focus on. Kyle was also soaked when the players called it quits for the day, but unlike Eric, Kyle told them that he already had plans. Kyle wanted to wear the jacket some more, so he could be better prepared for the try outs the next day.
