Melissa gestured for the bartender, hoping to successfully order a beer since she was 25 again, but the bartender scoffed.
"Don't try me girls. You had one chance. I won't check your IDs again."
Melissa let out an annoyed sigh and turned around to Joey.
"Great going wish boy. The bartender recognizes us. He still think's me and Colleen are 19."
"I'll fix that." Joey grinned, silently willing the magic ring to change the two girls.
"Look Missy." Colleen pointed at her friend.
"What?" Melissa turned around to face Colleen, immediately noticing Colleen having changed. She was visibly older.
Colleen was rapidly aging. She looked like she was already way into her thirties. Her black straight hair had lost some volume. Overall, her body was thicker, her thighs being chunkier. Some faint crow's feet could be seen around her eyes. Colleen's changes stopped, looking like her age had settled down in the early 40-range.
"Missy, don't just look at me! Look at yourself!" said the older Asian woman.
Melissa expected similar changes to have befallen her, but looking down at herself she didn't look any older. She saw something different. Her arms were a light brown color. This applied to all of her skin
Colleen tugged at Melissa's arm "Let's find a mirror. There's probably on in the bathroom."
The girls entered the bathroom. The room was a little unkempt, but it did have a mirror at least. Melissa looked closely upon her face in the mirror. She was black, or at least mixed. Adorning her face was a broader nose and wider lips. Yet, while different, Melissa did kind of resemble herself. She looked like her half-African sister if she had ever had one. She touched her hair. It was straight like before, but its texture was different. Melissa wondered if this hair was naturally curly, just straightened.
Melissa turned around to Colleen. In contrast to Melissa who had carefully studied her change, Colleen was posing, switching between various poses, almost looking like she was getting into different roles.
"Missy, don't I look good as an older woman? Like I wouldn't want to stay like this, but I checked my license and it said I was 48. Would you believe that? I think I could maybe even pass as someone in their late 30s. Oh, and Missy, you look totally adorable. I am kind of jealous. Your change is much more fun than mine."
"You're having fun with this." The goth black girl replied. Her voice caught her off guard. It was slightly deeper than she was used to.
"Let's go back to Joey." Colleen suggested.
The girls exited the bathroom and returned to Joey.
"What's your deal wish boy?" Melissa asked.
"I just fixed your problem." Joey cheekily smiled. "There's no way the bartender would recognize you now."
Melissa sighed. She could think of several much easier ways to get them alcohol with a magic ring, but she wasn't surprised Joey went the direction he did. It was not like she was a stranger to him constantly transforming her.
"Let's do it. Let's order." Colleen beamed.
The girls went back to the counter and signaled for the bartender. With no fuzz and with no checking of IDs, Melissa got her beer and Colleen got her rum and Coke. While they ordered, Colleen had a giant grin on her face. She seemed to really enjoy being out in the public as her older self.
