Hailey burst into the room, clutching baby Will to her chest. Carmen didn't even get a moment to react before it happened. The phone was swiped from her hands. Carmen watched as sprinted out of the room, stealing both her son and phone.
Carmen ran after. Carmen got out of the house. She could still see Hailey, but there was a considerable distance between them. Carmen wavered for a second if she should chase after by car instead of foot, but decided against driving.
Carmen ran as fast as she could, managing to close the distance for a moment. Carmen had the longer legs, but she was not in good shape. Carmen struggled to hold a fast run, and quickly lost speed. The gap between them grew. Hailey disappeared from her vision. With Hailey nowhere to be seen, Carmen stopped, panted and tried to recover her breath,
Hailey kept on running, not daring to look behind. She kept full pace until she arrived at the edge of the woods. Only then did she look back and was relieved to see no one following them. She entered the woods, and as she moved through the woods she slowed down a little bit.
Hailey soon arrived at her destination. It was a place she knew well. She used to play here a lot when she was younger. Here, there was a rocky formation covered in foliage. She lifted some branched and slid between the rocks together with Will. A cave of sorts, this used to be her "secret base" and it should be perfect for this moment.
Hailey carefully placed Will down on the ground. She hadn't looked at him as they were running, but now she had the chance. He smiled at her, seeming like he approved. Hailey let out a relieved sigh. She hadn't messed up so far.
Hailey got her first look at the phone she had stolen from Carmen. It had an app opened. One that Hailey didn't recognize.
Exploring the interface, Hailey realized what kind of app this was. She would have struggled to believe something like this if she hadn't just before seen a typing baby. Hailey even discovered the awareness setting and made sure both her and Will was aware.
Hailey figured that Will must have been older, but had the app used on him. She suspected Carmem, imagining Carmen as the ultimate villain.
Hailey selected Will and got a sentence to edit.
"This 7 month old boy is sitting on the ground"
After some calculations, Hailey replaced "7" with "153" and pressed apply. She dearly hoped she was not making some sort of mistake somewhere.
She watched in awe as baby will was replaced with a boy her own age. A boy with messy red hair. A cute boy. Hailey looked at his eyes, they were a gray-green color. He looked back at her, and as they eyes met, Hailey blushed and turned away.
"Thank you Hailey." Will smiled.
"N-no problem." Hailey stammered, turning a little red.
"Being stuck as a bay was not fun. I'll tell you that. It feels great to be old enough to actually properly move around." Will stood up and stretched his arms. "How old am I? Thirteen?"
"W-well, you're almost thirteen. You're tw-twelve. Same age as me." She mumbled. "We're even the same amount of months." she meekly added.
"Oh, alright. I was 22 before the app turned me into a baby."
Hailey's heart sank. "22". Will was the same age as her sister Ashley. He was actually an adult. Of course this was an possibility, Hailey just hadn't thought of it. He was 22, and why would a 22-year old be interested in a twelve year old girl. Unless. Hailey clenched the phone. Unless the app could help them.
"Hailey?"
"Yes!" Hailey nervously replied. "What, what is it?"
"Could you hand me the phone?" Will requested.
