They finally took off the blindfold and shoved him down naked into the floor and sneered.
"Here's your new patient, Doc," they said to a graceful, swarthy lady with straight black hair. Dr. Jenkins thought maybe he recognized her ... Dr. Nez maybe? He would have found her very attractive if not for the circumstances.
Looking around, Dr. Jenkins knew where he was. This was the section of the zoo which focused on North American wilderness animals. He hadn't been here very often himself, but it was a pretty popular site for the visitors; they could walk a leisurely footpath connecting naturalistic habitats for the various attractions: bears, turkeys, coyotes, etc. He remembered from some old emails that they were thinking about using a modified version of his formula here, but he never really found out about how that went.
"Ah, Dr. Jenkins, how nice to see you. I'd give you a tour of our marvelous section of the zoo, but you're going to feel more at home here than I do soon enough." Jenkins really didn't like the sound of that.
"You see," she continued, pulling out a syringe, "we heard about your little revolution back there in the horse-riding exhibit and decided you needed a taste of your own medicine... literally."
"Come on, it was an accident! I swear! You can check the tapes, it's obvious..."
"It's OBVIOUS, Dr. Jenkins, that you don't know your place in our treasured and orderly institution. The human resources department has found a much more fitting place for you down here at the Trail." She brought the needle to his arm. "Of course, as you might have guessed, you aren't going to be a HUMAN resource anymore."
