It took Lilly a moment to recognize the human who suddenly had appeared in front of her, taking up much of her view. She was having trouble focusing still. It was a pale human, with a mane of brown hair. The way his head sat on his shoulders above his blue collar must be what she looked like now, arms coming down and ending in what looked like tiny feet...identical to the set in the rear.
Male...yes male, she knew that. She knew his face, but the thought would not come to her easily. Sandy looked down. Lilly was having the oddest reaction to the neighbor's dog..usually she was eager to see him. But right now, she was just frozen there. "Lilly, this is Jeff." Sandy said.
Lilly had to concentrate to recognize it was the teenager from next door standing in front of her. Jeff was panting, his eyes were glazed over. Was that how she looked? She saw the leash and followed it up to a husky standing, holding the other end.
"Jeff?" Lilly asked, "Thank God it's not just me!" Was what she tried to say. What came out was "Arf arf arf arf!"
Sandy just laughed. "Yes, you know Jeff!"
She did know Jeff. Even though she had never seen the husky before, she knew this was Jeff's owner, Miranda.
He walked over to Lilly and started sniffing her. Lilly stood and let him sniff her, and she found herself sniffing his butt too, to get his scent. Sandy and Miranda were speaking, she wasn't really paying attention to what they were saying as her head was spinning. She had to resist.
A few minutes earlier, Jeff had been watching Lilly out the window and waiting for the changes to kick in, when he suddenly lost his train of thought...distractedly, he wandered around the room. What had he been waiting for? He tried to get out, but just pushed at the door, trying to make it open.
Outside, his sister Megan, who had been gearing up to get him into trouble with their mother suddenly found herself somewhere else. In her place was a confused husky, who had also been somewhere else until a moment earlier as well.
The husky looked around the strange, yet somehow familiar house. She focused on the door farthest away from here...her mind telling her that it was her room. She took several steps toward it.
