“So,” Ty starts as Rebecca confidently walks towards the mall, “What exactly do you have in mind?”
“Experimentation! And practice! If we want to know our options of fun, we should know what can be done!” Rebecca did not break her stride, only pausing to allow an elderly grandma to exit the mall before moving straight to the food court and sitting down at a corner of the place.
“Why here?” Ty looks around, noting the people currently eating.
“Because the food court is in the middle of the mall! Gives us more room and snacks for the show!” Rebecca grinned at that, “So, you have any preferences for a target, or should I pick?”
Ty considered his options, “You pick the target and change – I’ll add if I want something.”
“Alright!” Rebecca looked around for the right person, before spotting them, “Look, by the shoe store! It’s Amber and Chloe!”
Ty turned to look and indeed – Amber Fields, a stereotypical shy nerd girl, and her sister Chloe, the stereotypical Queen Bee – were in front of the shoe store. It looked like Chloe was berating Amber for something and the poor girl looked close to tears.
“Alright, oh wait, we need to make sure we actually remember the original world!”
“Had that covered when you were looking.”
“Nice! Alright, so, Chloe definitely needs an attitude check and Amber needs a confidence boost. So, transfer Chloe’s confidence to Amber!”
“That’s it?” Ty cocked his head – Rebecca can’t be thinking so simply, can she?
Rebecca rolled her eyes at that intonation, “Well, obviously, change the world to fit the new Amber and Chloe, but this is a test run – how well do you do with non-physical things and all.”
“Well, you’re the boss.” Ty proceeds to with the wish, “I wish that until I say stop, Chloe’s confidence will slowly transfer to Amber.”
The two sat and watched as bit by bit, the blond, tall and pretty Queen Bee lost her confidence, stumbling over words, looking nervous, lowering her voice from the bombastic tone to talking in a nervous whisper. Her clothes changed from a pink mini skirt and white crop top to a floor length moss colored skirt and a grey jumper. Her high ponytail turned into a low bun. Likewise with every change to Chloe, Amber changed, standing straighter and more confidently, the jeans she wore turned into knee length pants, her sweater became the no neck, shoulder-less kind and brightened to a baby blue shade, her thick rimmed glasses became thin rimmed and her usually low ponytailed brown hair now became a high ponytail.
“Stop.”
Now instead of Chloe yelling at Amber, the blond was quietly talking to Amber and the other girl looked encouraging and gentle, rather than scared.
“That’s all that changed?” Rebecca wonders as she watched the two sisters now entering the shoe store.
“Well, I did only give Amber Chloe’s confidence. The personalities and attitudes, I guess, only changed to what they could have been with that confidence.” Ty shrugs, interested in what else could a small change result in.
Rebecca looked around for the next target, “Well then, we’ll need some more tests to be certain. How about…”
