Olivia rushed downstairs in a hurry. She had no intention of letting her food start to burn, she wanted to make a good impression after all! Olivia was middle aged, and she had no kids to speak of, which always made her feel looked down upon in her family. Sure she had her husband Paul, so it's not like she was alone, but still she always felt judged.
This party was not just to see her family again, but also show that her and Paul were happy and adjusted. As she rushed downstairs, she placed the old camera on the counter and quickly ran to the oven. In her rush, the camera nearly slid off the counter, but just managed to stop at the edge. As Olivia pulled some of her party ham sliders out of the oven, the door opened and in walked some of her guests.
"Why hello Liv!" A voice rang out. Olivia turned to see her older sister Georgia barge in.
"Of course she'd do that." Olivia thought slightly annoyed. "Hey sis! It's so good to see you!" Olivia called out, forcing a happy smile.
Georgia looked a lot like Olivia herself, though being older had a bit more gray starting to appear in her hair. She was also bustier than Olivia, which always secretly irked her though she would never say that aloud. Behind Georgia was her husband, Marco. He was an Italian who Georgia had romantically fallen in love with when she visited Italy. Olivia knew this because they'd never shut up about that story.
"Olivia, è bello vederti!" He called out when he saw her. "I have not seen you in a so long." He chuckled.
"It's good to see you to Marco." Olivia smiled, though it was even harder since she found him obnoxious. "Now, where are my nephews?" She called out.
"Hi Auntie Liv!" The 8 year old Jake called out, running to hug her. She almost dropped the tray she held but managed to catch it.
"Oh, ha ha, hello Jake." She chuckled.
"Heya Aunt Liv." Came a calmer, much older voice.
Olivia looked back up to see the 18 year old Francesco, though Olivia could only see him as her adorable nephew.
"Oh! My, Frank you grew so much!" She laughed before giving him a hug as well.
"Now, where's everyone else?" Georgia interrupted. "I saw Greg's car, so is our big bro's boy here?" She asked.
"Well, Greg and his wife are out by the pool. They're also here with two friends they brought. As for everyone else, they'll be arriving shortly." She explained as she placed some of the food down finally. "If you'll excuse me, I have to go get changed before the next batch of food is ready." She excused herself before running off upstairs.
All the while, the camera sat there. But, who is to pick it up and accidentally alter reality further?
