The daycare worker comes back. She hands Leah a sundress.
“This is the most mature thing I could find,” she explains as Leah slips the sundress on. Leah walks over to a mirror and inspects her reflection. The daycare worker did a good job. Leah looks like her regular self. The dress even matches Leah’s shoes.
“This is great.”
“Awesome! I wanted to get something that wouldn’t show off that diaper bulge,” the daycare worker explains. Tina comes back.
“Leah, why’d you change clothes again?” she asks.
“One of the kids spilled their juice all over her,” the daycare worker fibs. She shoots Leah a wink. “She was adaptable enough to wear a spare dress while her clothes are in the wash.”
“Thank you so much for putting up with everything today,” Tina says. She smiles at Leah. “I really do owe you a huge number of favors.”
“Yes, you do,” Leah confirms, thinking about the diaper currently hugging her butt.
“If you want, we can wait for your clothes to finish washing,” Tina says. “Or if you want to go home right now, I can get your clean clothes tomorrow at work.”
