Tot Testing at the Pretend Station

added by ACornBot? 2 years ago AR Toddler

The police station Kimmy brought Jenny to was effectively a large cardboard wall that sectioned off an area with a couple tables, and an upturned laundry basket labeled "Time-out Jail". There seemed to only be two other police officers here, both of them boys. One was a blonde toddler in sunglasses and a pacifier, the other was a chubby toddler sucking on a doughnut. The sunglasses one looked up as the girls walked in.

"New kid?" he asked in a sort of "I'm the cool loose cannon who don't play by nobody's rules" voice.

"Newest kid," Kimmy nodded, "Can you get her the testing papers, please?"

"Hmm... dunno," sunglasses kid shrugged, "Do you think I have that capability?" That made the chubby toddler chuckle.

"Well, if you don't," Kimmy lowered her voice, "I'll slip prune juice in your sippy cup."

Sunglasses kid gulped nervously. "R-right away, chief!" he said, walking over to a nearby cubby hole.

"We gonna tess a new fwend?" the chubby one asked.

"Yes, Charlie, we're gonna test a new friend," Kimmy chuckled, "This is Jenny. She just came down with Totrophy recently."

"Hi!" Charlie waved at Jenny, "My name Chawwy! It nice to meet yow!"

"N-nice," Jenny nodded back.

"Alright, here's the test papers," sunglasses kid handed Kimmy the documents in question, "Thanks to you, I gotta change! Scared the boom boom right outta me with your prune juice threats, man! Not cool." With that, he waddled out of the station to find one of the daycare nurses.

"Ah, don't mind Stevie," Kimmy waved him off, "He just hates when his 'cool guy' act is broken. Anyway, we should get you started on this test. You think you're ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be," Jenny shrugged as she was lead to the table. She sat opposite from Kimmy, who handed her a blank piece of paper and a red crayon.

"Okay," Kimmy explained, "For your first test, just write your name. Simple, right?"

"Should be," Jenny nodded as she grabbed the crayon and attempted to hold it like a grown-up... almost successfully. She carefully wrote out her full name with the crayon, remembering exactly how to spell it, thankfully. J-E-N-N-I-F-E-R... S-M-I-T-H! Jennifer Smith. With a twinge of despair, Jenny noticed that her handwriting quality had declined a bit, but at least it was legible.

"Alright, very good!" Kimmy smiled at her as she moved the next sheet in front of her, "This one's just a few basic algebra questions. Easy stuff, really."

This progressed for around half an hour. Jenny answered the all of the math questions correctly, defined some high level vocabulary words, and even remembered some physics rules. It seemed that turning into a toddler hadn't hampered her intelligence after all.

"Excellent! That's everything squared away," Kimmy nodded, "Now for the final portion, I just need some personal info for your daycare ID card. I'll need your birthday, day you came down with Totrophy, favorite color, and favorite snack, okay?" Jenny nodded as she filled out the application.

Jennifer Smith
DoB: 5/17/2004
DoI: [Today]
Favorite Color: Pink
Favorite Snack: Chocolate Cookies

"Alright, I'll just hand this to the daycare people and you'll be all set," Kimmy smiled, "Good timing, too, because I think both of us just made an uh-oh in our Pampers."
