While testing the supplies, Tina had mixed up a bottle of baby formula, though she didn’t make Leah try it. Quickly, Leah grabs the baby bottle from the stroller and pops the rubber nipple into her mouth. She sits down on the floor to guzzle down the formula. Tina stops, frowning at her in confusion.
“Oh, hi, Leah’s stepmom,” Tammy says, walking over. She glances at Leah. “Who’s he?”
“My nephew, Aspen.”
“He’s cute.” Tammy continues walking. Leah lets out a sigh of relief.
“You were worried she’d recognize you, weren’t you?” Tina asks. Leah nods. “Well, you might as well finish that bottle. She’s still in sight.” Leah does as she’s told. “A little boy that just finished a bottle of milk would be too tired to keep walking,” Tina says, putting Leah back in the stroller.
Tina continues shopping with Leah in the stroller. Unbeknownst to Leah, she had lied about Tammy being in sight. She just wanted Leah to finish the bottle of milk, because it wasn’t a regular baby formula, and Tina is curious as to whether the formula will do as it claims.
Fifteen minutes after Leah drinks the bottle, Tina gets confirmation that the formula works, when...
